Hall of Mirrors Ebooks Now on Sale

After a seemingly endless process of editing and formatting (just thinking about it makes my head spin), the Hall of Mirrors books are now available to buy from Amazon for Kindle, and Smashwords.com for all other e-reader devices.

There are four mini-volumes, each containing three stories (except Volume Four, which contains an extra story "Dessert") and a fifth, "Complete Edition", that contains all the stories in one book! Check the "Books" tab at the top of this blog for details and links.

Not only are the books full of tales of horror and the grotesque, but the covers also are delight of horror and the grotesque, thanks to M.J.Hahn, who has designed a beautiful range of horrifying images, as suggested by stories in each volume.

The individual mini volumes are on sale for $0.99 each, or you can save a dollar and grab the Complete Edition for just $2.99!!

So whizz over to your ebook store now and grab your copy or copies of Hall of Mirrors: Tales of Horror and the Grotesque!

U&F Campaign Live Till August!

It's been a while since I blogged anything; like most people, I tend to think there's not enough going on in my life to merit writing about. But then this morning, I realised I actually do have quite a lot of stuff going on at the moment. Most notable of these things is the Indiegogo fundraiser set up to raise funds to get Underwood and Flinch into print. The great news is, the campaign reached its target in under a week! So massive thanks to everyone who contributed to that achievement, but a further plea to anyone else who would like to contribute but may be thinking it's now too late: it's not too late - the campaign is live till August 17th.

So if you'd like to be part of it, check out the campaign here or by clicking the widget at the top of the panel on the right. You'll see lots of reward perks in the right hand column - some affordable, others wildly expensive (this is normal practice, so I joined in). So far no one has taken me up on my $1,000 perk, but maybe some millionaire philanthropist might stumble upon it yet. Anyway, the really nice thing is, if you donate as little as $10 (about £6.50 UK) you can get your name in the book of U&F as a patron! Think about it, when U&F becomes the global sensation that it will / might / should be, you can say to your friends, "I helped make that happen, and here's the proof," [points to patrons page in book and makes friends gasp in awe]. Now if that isn't kudos to you, I don't know what is.

U&F 40 Progress

Getting down to work on U&F 40. I've done the first draft, but have been distracted from working on the second draft by work and social stuff. However, today is mine, and so I'm at it once again. As always,  Draft 1 is a bit woolly around the edges, but it's shaping up nicely in Draft 2. I'll keep you updated.

Bike Ride

Decided to take a day off and make the most of this glorious, if slightly bizarre, October heatwave. My wife and I cycled up a crazy amount of hills to get to Horstead Keynes, a pretty little village in the Sussex Downs. When we got there, we found a pub with a name that should ring a few bells with Hall of Mirrors fans.

WIlson

Remember the ball that became "Wilson" in the Tom Hanks film, "Castaway"? Well, he got washed up in my living room today - in spirit at least. I began a strange new ritual to make myself sit and work without skipping off when I get fatigued.

Since Thursday I've been putting on a shirt and tie and sitting down to 'work' at 9.00 am. But yesterday I was late (9.40) and I kept getting up and pacing about. I thought, "if I were at a real job, this wouldn't happen". So today, I added a new dimension to my "workplace". I got ready for work, then I left the house. I walked down the street and back (going to work), then I returned to the house (my job) and entered. I then made myself a cup of tea and had a water-cooler type chat with a colleague called Wilson. We talked about the weather and the movie I watched on TV last night, Infestation. I told him it was good, if you liked that sort of thing. Wilson was quiet throughout our chat, but he's a quiet guy. Anyway, once the tea was made, I told Wilson I'd see him later and went off to my office, where I sat down, turned on the computer and started my job.

And do you know what? It worked. I worked all morning. I'm now going to lunch. Maybe I'll see Wilson around town, maybe not - I think he only does a half-day on Saturday. All right for some.

Grotesque and Hilarious Underwood and Flinch Images

A while ago I used the A.I. art generator, DALL-E, to create some images of Underwood and Flinch. The results were … er … not good, and ca...
